At this time just 3 short years ago…
it just wasn’t in my cards to be able to pay $1,000 for a barbeque…
Much less afford to even take my family out to eat at a normal restaurant!
yet fast forward, and in the summer of 2016, I’m at an event in Las Vegas.
Yes – sin city.
Yes we did gamble – and yes we did win…every – single – day!
(but how we did that is a story for another time… maybe I’ll tell you about it and my professional poker days someday soon…)
but what’s important is that we really did pay $1,000 to go to a Barbeque.
Well, that’s not all that exciting… because while the food was great…
This story really isn’t about the food anyway.
Let me explain.
So we’re in Vegas, after an amazingly successful weekend which included:
- Networking with fellow entrepreneurs who make 6-7 figures/year. (profits, sales would be 6-8 figures)
- Masterminding at a million dollar mansion.
- Speaking to a group of about 100 aspiring & established marketers. (This was actually one of the big highlights of my weekend… because I love serving and inspiring others and teaching the many “shortcuts to success” that I’ve gathered over the years.)
- Eating sushi every single day. (My favorite meal)
- Hanging out in the VIP section of “Daylight”. (this was simply a mini-version of being in Cancun during Spring Break week… except being escorted into the VIP section, and being the envy of the entire afternoon rave… was quite the experience!)
So after you see these pictures, you could imagine I was wiped out…
You would think I was ready to go home…
but then this $1,000 “surprise” happened…

So you would think I was ready to go home…
and you’d be dead right!
(because I had just been in San Diego 2 weeks prior, then off on my family’s 1st Disney Cruise, then directly home and to the above Vegas event)
It was the most back to back travel I had done – in my entire life…
and man I was WIPED!
(not to mention, I was excited to get home and decompress… as well as to implement all of the awesome new wisdom I had gained from the event and the mastermind!)
but a good friend had messaged me, and let me know they were having a Barbeque there on Sunday afternoon.
The husband & wife couple were like brother & sister to me…
He was the co-owner of a company we jointly held…
and it was damn tempting!
and pay attention – here’s where a former limiting belief gets completely destroyed – one I had held my entire life up until there in July 2016…
and it’s all this guy’s fault!
(and no I have no idea who those 2 women are…
they just liked our vibe and decided to photobomb our bro-pic!)
So that crazy guy in the black hat…
we’ll call him DJ Henee.
(that’s not his real last name, although he is a damn good DJ, and even taught me how to DJ… although again – a story (& pics) for another time…)
He is the only guy I know that’s crazy enough to change his last name!
(That’s his real last name on Facebook… and not a joke – several of our biz colleagues still think that’s his real name! Hell… even I sometimes forget when checking into hotel rooms and booking travel w/ Mr. “Henee”)
I’m so deeply grateful for this amazing brother…
because when I first met him back when this story was starting in early 2014…
He was traveling the world…
Changing travel plans at the drop of a dime to go see random family members & friends…
Taking off with zero notice to attend various events…
while my family was trapped and at the time, had been kicked out of our home we’d been renting for 5.5 years…
and we were living in my parent’s basement.
(It was only for about 3 weeks… we had an awesome place finally secured… but had to wait for all the legal stuff to go through.)
but it was worse than living in their basement for a few weeks…
because we were moving into a home we weren’t sure we could really afford…
Our income was dropping…
and as excited as we were to move into our $950,000 dream home…
it was looming over us like the grim reaper.
Traveling was nearly out of the picture…
(it was reserved only for absolute, do or die necessities.)
and changing flights and trip itineraries was… well, quite frankly it was something that didn’t even enter my mind because it wasn’t a possibility.
and here DJ Henee was… traveling all around the world as if he had the time & money freedom I had once dreamed about.
(the same kind I had originally came into online business for)
So to fast forward a few years and be in Vegas…
and to have a last minute request to attend a Barbeque in San Diego with some very close friends…
and to realize the flight changes were going to cost $1,000 for each of us…
Well… let’s just say that as I boarded that place, not to go home to Denver, but to head out to San Diego for my first $1,000 Barbeque…
My life was about to change… yet again.
Here we are, hanging out there in San Diego, the day after the $1,000 Barbeque… at a beachside super nice restaurant.
(It overlooks the ocean in the background… but the camera didn’t pick it up due to the messed up white balance settings.)
(and a massive thank you to Tar’Lese, who treated DJ Henee and I to an amazing meal!)

Here’s why all of that matters…
Because just 3 years prior, this amazing trip, hanging out with very close friends, would have never happened.
(not to mention hanging out with those awesome sea lions!)
Yet, because I took action on systems that work, and finally was able to avoid companies, systems, and “gurus” that did not work…
I was able to do all of the above, some last minute, some planned…
and that was only a possibility because of this specific system, which works better than anything I’ve ever used or recommended in my nearly 11 year career online.
and because it worked for me, and has proven results for hundreds of others doing the same…
including 4 people in my direct influence who are now full time staying at home, taking their own travel ventures at the drop of a dime…
